I had taken the jeep to a jeep dealer for power steering pump service( another piece of garbage crysler designed to fail!!!), The had the jeep on a lift, but never informed me of he condition of the gas tank skid plate. Jeep used solid steel on all the skid plates except the gas tank which is layered steel- which I feel is a GREAT design to catch and trap water.

The gas tank skid plate had rusted from under the gas tank, it also SUPPORTS the gas tank.
